The Hufflepigs are our family of resident Miniature Dachshunds.

We live and breathe Dachshunds at Hufflepig House which is situated in Fakenham, Norfolk.
Nessie has over a decade of experience with “Sausage Dogs” and she even became a Dog Trainer who has specialised in training this incredibly unique and loveable breed.
Hufflepig House has been many years in the making, and it is a complete dream come true to be offering a truly bespoke home boarding and training service that really caters to The Dachshund!
Our Stay & Train Packages
Silver Stay Package
£40 per day Including day of check out.. Includes Meals & Treats, 1hr Exercise Daily Minimum , Complimentary Bath and Nail Trim before return. (Minimum 2 Day Stay)
Gold Stay Package
£60 per day Including day of check out - Includes all of the above + 1hr Personalised Training Session per day. (Minimum 5 night stay)
(Training is delivered by seperate contract with Happy Paws Dog Training)
Platinum Stay Package
£100 per day including day of checkout - Includes all of the above plus Intensive Training - Suitable for Dogs that require Behavioural Modification are Suffering from Reactivity or Serious Aggression . We can also Train the Basics Loose Lead, Recall, Place, Crate Training & General Obedience (Minimum 10 day Stay)

Meet & Greet Plus Tour Of Hufflepig House
At Hufflepig House we understands how dogs learn and more specifically how they communicate.
Introductions are always handled carefully, on neutral ground in a controlled manner.
If you are not quite ready to entrust us with a Trial Stay we welcome you to book this service.
It includes a 1hr Session at Manor Farm Enclosed Dog Meadow, followed by a tour of Hufflepig House and complimentary refreshments.

What can I say - Nessie is absolutely amazing at what she does. She took our sausage for 10 days and she came back transformed. Before Nessie, our dog was having several accidents a day in the house, had very little obedience and we were really struggling as a family to know what to do with her. Nessie kept in contact continually throughout the 10 days and is still there supporting us with any questions or tips that we need. I cannot thank her enough for what she has done for our little family. She is incredibly knowledgeable - and her love for animals shines through. All of her training methods are superb too and are easy to continue after the initial training. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We will not hesitate to use Nessie again for either more training, boarding, or general help. If you think the impossible can’t be done, with Nessie it can!!!!!!!!

We were struggling with our highly anxious dachshund, who displayed reactivity towards both people and other dogs. Finding a trainer who truly understood Howie and whom he actually liked was a challenge. After working with several trainers and behaviourists, we were thrilled to discover Nessie. Under her guidance, Howie's confidence has soared. We've gone from avoiding walks due to his lunging and barking to comfortably sitting outside pubs, engaging in conversations with people, and watching Howie remain calm. Nessie's dedication to dachshunds, as a dachshund owner herself, grants her a profound understanding of the breed. All Male Boarders must be Neutered . (We will consider chemically castrated dogs.)

We are unable to accept Females in season, If your dog comes into season during her stay, she must be collected by your emergency care provider.

We do not readily accept dogs under 1yr of age. However decisions will be made on a case by case basis.

All boarders must be house trained unless booked in for house training as part of a Platinum Stay & Train Package.

All boarders must be crate trained and happy to sleep in a crate overnight. Clients must be happy for their dog to be placed in a crate throughout the day for regular naps, to enjoy enrichment in their safe space, such as frozen stuffed Kongs or Lickimats or whenever we feel it is a necessity. (Crate Training forms part of Platinum Stay)

Hufflepig House uses reward based training methods for our guests, but we also implement plenty of structure, rules and boundaries.

Gold and Silver stay packages come with training plans designed and delivered by Happy Paws - This is by seperate agreement.

Our minimum stay duration is 2 days, your dog must have had a trial night stay before hand, you will be charged for a Gold Stay to allow for the extra support your dog may require to feel secure and relaxed.

Platinum stay does not require a trial stay - this is due to it likely not being in the best interest of your dog especially if coming for behaviour modification delivered by Happy Paws.

If you are not quite ready for a trial stay we welcome you to book our meet and greet service which we conduct at our local secure dog meadow, this is followed by a tour of Hufflepig House. We do not have an open door policy here, we feel people coming and going all of the time is highly disruptive to the calm stress free environment we aim to provide for our dogs and your's. Meet & Greets are a fab way for you to get a feel of Hufflepig House without having to leave your dog with us, We understand how much trust it takes to do this.

All guests must be fully vaccinated and treated for parasites.

We have a resident Bengal Cat at Hufflepig House, You must be happy for your dog to be around cats and at times different breeds of dog that may be here.

Check in and Check Out times are between 8am -10am & 4pm & 6pm only.

We require 50 % of the booking to be paid on receipt of your invoice. **This is non refundable. The remainder must be paid 2 weeks before check in date.
FAQ
What do you supply for overnight boarding?
Hufflepig House can supply everything to ensure your Dachshund has a relaxed and comfortable stay, from Blankets, Beds & Crates to Food and Toys!
However if you wish to bring your dog's favourite bed, blankets etc we can accommodate this too!
Cuddles and Treats come as standard!
What if my Dachshund needs regular medication or has a special diet? Can their needs be accommodated?
Absolutely, The Hufflepigs are fed a combination of Raw , Kibble and fresh food so we can cater to most dogs needs. You can of course supply us with enough of your dogs special food which we will feed as per your instructions.
The same can be said of administering medication, We will be happy to discuss this when writing their care plan.
How can I check on my pet during their stay?
We understand how nerve racking it can be leaving our pets with someone else. We are happy to contact you as much as you need for your peace of mind. From daily Whatsapp messages to updates on our Instagram story! Trust us, It will be like you haven't left them at all.
Who delivers the Training aspect of my dogs stay?
Hufflepig House is licenced by North Norfolk Council for the safe home boarding of dogs. Licence No: NNDC/AA063
The training aspect of your dog's stay is delivered by Happy Paws Dog Walking & Pet Care LTD by seperate agreement.
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured during their stay, Are you prepared for emergencies/ fire safe etc?
Hufflepig House is prepared for any emergency should one occur , we have First Aid Kits on site and we are Canine First Aid Trained. We also have fire alarms/carbon monoxide alarms on both floors plus fire fighting equipment on both floors aswell.
Your dog's health will be properly monitored during their stay. Should they show symptoms of illness or suffer injury whilst in our care you will be informed immediately and your dog will be taken to the Grove Vets Fakenham for treatment if necessary.
Will you accept my fearful / Nervous / Reactive Dog?
We will be accepting dogs that need on going training and support! Reactivity and fearful behaviour is incredibly common in Dachshunds.
If your dog is in need of training for any issue they would need the Gold Stay Package as a minimum so that we can help them adopt a healthier emotional state during their stay.
Can I board multiple dogs with you?
Yes of course. We have a max capacity of 8 Dogs including our resident dogs.
**We do not offer a multi-dog discount however.
Why do you accept only neutered male dogs?
Our Resident girls Frankie, Minnie & Bunny are unspayed.
We never have conflict between our girls, but when we have done previously its been due to an entire male triggering hormonal responses. You can do as much training as you like but you cant out train nature.
